The 1997 musical ‘The Full Monty’ is the inspiration for Fox’s ‘The Real Full Monty’, a new two-hour special in which a group of male celebrities (almost) completely expose themselves for charity; the network just unveiled a first look.

The special aims to raise awareness about testing and research for prostate, testicular and colorectal cancer, and to encourage men to have regular check-ups. The cast includes host Anthony Anderson, Taye Diggs (“All American,” “How Stella Got Her Groove Back”), Tyler Posey (“Teen Wolf”), Bruno Tonioli (“Dancing with the Stars”), James Van Der Beek (“Dawson’s Creek,” “Varsity Blues”) and super bowl champion Chris Jones. Van Der Beek recently announced his own diagnosis of colon cancer.

During the special, Anderson will lead the male cast to train and rehearse for a revealing performance choreographed by Mandy Moore (“La La Land,” “So You Think You Can Dance”). During their journey, the celebrities will share their personal stories and how cancer has impacted their lives.

The special airs Monday, December 9 on Fox.

After a young Phoebe (Ava Joyce McCarthy) and her siblings are forced into a Scottish village, their father (Kevin McKidd) goes missing. Phoebe takes on the task of getting to the bottom of her father’s disappearance, discovering connections and secrets in her new community along the way.

The adaptation will be available to stream for free on the BYUtv app and BYUtv.org starting December 8. “Primrose Railway Children” was produced by BYUtv in association with BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions.
