Wawa recall: More than 60,000 cups recalled due to tear hazard

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Wawa is recalling 60,000 of its branded cups due to the risk of cuts caused by the metal straws.

The CPSC said the metal straws can cut a person’s mouth while drinking or fingers while holding the product.

Four people have been injured since Thursday due to a product defect.

The tumblers were sold in August 2024 at Wawa locations in Alabama, Washington DC, Delaware, Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland.

The 24-ounce cups were sold in four different styles.

The agency is urging people to stop using the metal straws and contact Halo Branding Solutions, the product’s distributor, for a replacement cup.

If someone doesn’t want a cup, they can also opt for a $15 gift card.
