Two dead in early morning fiery crash in Temple

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) – Temple Police are investigating a fiery single-vehicle crash on SW HK Dodgen Loop that left two people dead Saturday morning.

Temple police said the car was traveling at a high rate of speed, struck a concrete barricade and burst into flames.

Officers responded to the crash around 1 a.m. on the 2700 block of SW HK Dodgen Loop near 57th St.. Crews closed that stretch of Loop 363 until about 8:30 a.m.

The two people in the car were pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman. No other injuries were reported.

The Temple Police Department’s Traffic Reconstruction Unit will investigate the crash, Temple PD said.

The police are investigating the accident. Anyone wanting information should contact Temple PD or Bell County Crime Stoppers.
