Ahead of the New York Giants’ game against the Carolina Panthers in Munich on Sunday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell indicated that more games could come to Germany in 2025.

According to The Athletic’s Lauren Merola, Goodell, who said last November that Berlin has “a lot of interest” in hosting a match, told fans to believe the rumors that a match was coming to the capital.

“I usually say don’t believe the rumors,” Goodell said. “In this case I say: believe them.”

Sunday’s match in Munich will be the fourth played in Germany and the second played in Munich. The other two games were in Frankfurt last season. The matches in Germany have been successful so far, with the first in Munich generating €70.2 million for the city of Munich, according to the NFL.

This year’s match at the Allianz Arena is sold out, with 70,000 fans set to attend on Sunday.

Goodell said that while nothing is set in stone, the league is “working on it” to get a game to Berlin. He also said that a match in Berlin would not mean the end of the matches in Frankfurt and Munich.

“We’re working on it, but it’s not finalized yet,” Goodell said, according to James Ellingworth of the Associated Press. “We really feel that Berlin would be a great addition, so we are looking very hard at that. Our people have been working very hard on it. But I would like to add that this does not mean that we will not be back in the future. ” Frankfurt and Munich.”

Sunday’s match in Munich will be the last of five international matches to be played this season. The first was a match between the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil and the league played three games in London in October.

The 2025 International Series schedule has not yet been set, but the league has already confirmed that one match will be played in Madrid, Spain next season. Goodell said The Pat McAfee Show (h/t CBS Sports’ John Breech) in September that he hopes to play seven international matches next season with a possible return to Mexico and Brazil. His comments on Saturday seem to indicate that American football will also be played in Berlin.
