Police make call after woman dies in motorcycle accident

Police investigating the death of a young woman in a road accident in south London in August have issued a new appeal for witnesses.

Carolina Ramirez Jimenez, 23, was a pillion passenger on a Yamaha motorcycle when she was found injured on Silverthorne Road in Battersea and taken to hospital with serious head injuries and later died.

Officers confirmed they were unable to locate any vehicles that may have been involved in the incident, which took place at 2.30am BST on August 1.

Two men, aged 23 and 34, have been arrested on suspicion of driving offences, including causing death by dangerous driving. They have been released on bail pending further investigation.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said the force has “carried out a range of further investigations since the incident”.

In a new witness appeal on Saturday, detectives have urged anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the motorcycle or a dark-colored Range Rover, or who has dashcam footage, to get in touch.
