Mayor Sarno joins in as KeyBank donates 0,000 to the Springfield Rescue Mission for Workforce Development Outreach Program: City of Springfield, MA

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined Springfield Rescue Mission Executive Director Kevin Ramsdell, KeyBank Market President Matthew Hummel, and city and state officials Wednesday afternoon as KeyBank presented a $150,000 grant to the Workforce Development Outreach Program the Springfield Rescue Mission. The program matches Springfield Rescue Mission residents with potential employers and provides training and support for residents to become effective, sustainable employees.

Mayor Sarno says, “A special thank you to CEO Kevin Ramsdell, and his wife, Chief of Staff Sabra Ramsdell, and all the staff at Springfield Rescue Mission, for all the hard work you do for our community here in Springfield. In addition, our thanks go to the KeyBank Foundation for its contribution to the financing of this initiative. Not just “healing the soul,” but just as importantly, empowering those of us who need it to care for ourselves, our families, and our communities. This program is monumental in helping individuals rebuild a life for themselves. With the efforts of Springfield Rescue Mission’s Workforce Development Outreach program and the grant funded by the KeyBank Foundation, individuals who participate in the program will be successful in being effective and sustainable employees.

Also in attendance were City Councilman Melvin Edwards, State Rep. Carlos Gonzalez, Lamari Jackson on behalf of State Senator Adam Gomez and Robin Frechette on behalf of State Rep. Brian Ashe.
