Impressive Nigerian goalkeeper Agbor Ekoi dies in fatal motorcycle accident

The Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) community is in mourning following the death of El Kanemi Warriors goalkeeper Agbor Ekoi.

Ekoi was involved in a fatal accident on Thursday, October 31 and is said to have died instantly.

The former Sporting Lagos shot-stopper was one of seven players to join El Kanemi during the summer transfer window, Daily Post reports.

He also had stints at Heartland FC, Abia Warriors and Lobi Stars, and was famous in the Nigerian top flight.

Tributes continue to pour in for the late 27-year-old as Nigerians express their grief over the passing of the impressive goalkeeper.

Rhoda Etuk (@mfreke36) wrote on X:

“Sad: Elkanemi Warriors goalkeeper Agbor Ekoi has died in a tragic accident while away from his team for treatment. He died on the spot.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and the Elkanemi Warriors during this difficult time.”

Caleb Oyedokun said on Facebook:

“This is to sympathize with the immediate family of Agbor, Borno FA, friends and acquaintances on the passing of their loved ones.

“May Almighty God comfort them and grant the family the fortitude to bear irreparable loss. Agbor was an agile, versatile and sharp reflex shot stopper during his lifetime.”

Boniface injured in traffic accident

Legit.ng previously reported that Nigeria international Victor Boniface was involved in a horrific car accident, hours after helping Bayer Leverkusen to a 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Super Eagles star captured the remains of his car and shared it on social media with the caption: “God is the greatest”.

Boniface shared the news via his Instagram page as he posted photos of himself showing injuries.
