‘I didn’t write…’: BLACKPINK’s Lisa Responds to Possible Reference to Rumored Boyfriend Frédéric Arnault in Moonlit Floor Lyrics

BLACKPINK’s Lisa is currently taking on a double challenge in her career. In addition to releasing new music, she is also preparing for her acting debut. Her upcoming series, The White Lotus Season 3, will premiere soon. She was featured in many interviews leading up to the big day.

In one such session with Billboard, the K-pop icon finally had something to say about her dating rumor surrounding French businessman Frédéric Arnault. Speculation about their romance started in 2023 and has since been further fueled by many claims. So far, though, Lisa has remained tight-lipped about the rumor.

In her recent interview with Billboard, she was asked about her dating life, especially the “green-eyed French boy” lyric in her latest song Moonlit Floor. After the song’s release, many thought it was a “hard launch” of her rumored relationship with Frédéric. However, she said coyly, “Well, I didn’t write the song.”

Although she immediately denied the dating rumor, she didn’t confirm it either. Her response to the speculation is indeed mysterious, as is her dating life.

Work-wise, Lisa has many things on the agenda this year. First she made her long-awaited solo comeback in June with the cheerful dance number ROCKSTAR. The song became a huge hit and lived up to the expectations of hits like MONEY and LALISA.

She didn’t keep fans waiting for a new hit. A few weeks later she released New Woman, featuring Spanish singer Rosalia.

This was indeed one of the best collaborations of this year. We’re not the only ones saying this, as the EMAs did too. That’s right, she won Best Collaboration at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards. A few days later, she released Moonlit Floor, the aforementioned song that confirmed her dating rumor.

She also performed at Victoria’s Secret this year, becoming not only the first K-pop artist but also the first Southeast Asian woman to reach the milestone. Now she is gearing up for the release of her acting debut in season 3 of The White Lotus. She will be seen in this series in the role of a resort manager.
