Halo Infinite update rewinds time for Halo 2’s anniversary and throws the FPS back 20 years with a nostalgia mode that removes sprint and adds classic maps

Halo 2 burst onto the scene 20 years ago with the weight of a 1,000-pound super soldier, but has already been chicly remade once via The Master Chief Collection, so the milestone anniversary will be celebrated with a Halo Infinite update instead which takes it back to 2004 (just without the whole MySpace hype).

Newly-named Halo Studios today announced that Halo Infinite would be getting a surprisingly major update called Operation: The Great Journey on the classic shooter’s anniversary, November 5. That surreal third-person mode is part of the package, but what’s even more exciting is a playlist that essentially rewinds time.
