Donna Kelce on Her ‘Amazing’ Acting Debut Hallmark Christmas Movies (Exclusive)

Donna Kelce talks about her experiences as an actress.

On Friday, November 29, PEOPLE met Donna at Arrowhead Stadium as she watched her son Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Las Vegas Raiders.

When asked about making her acting debut in the Hallmark Channel movies Christmas on callwhich took place in Philadelphia, and Holiday Touchdown: A Love Story for the Chiefsset in Kansas City, Donna, 72, says it was “so amazing.”

“There were so many wonderful Hallmark movie veterans and I loved learning from all of them,” she says.

“It’s so fun for them to play the movie in Kansas City for the first time and be in the stadium where I’ve been here for the last 11 years,” she adds. “So it was just a lot of fun.”

Donna also says her grandchildren couldn’t get enough of seeing her inside Christmas on call: “(They) kept saying, ‘Play it, play it! We want to see DeeDee!’ So that was kind of fun.'”

She and her ex-husband Ed have three grandchildren, Jason and his wife Kylie McDevitt Kelce’s three daughters, Wyatt, Elliotte and Bennett.

Holiday touchdown follows a love story between the Chiefs’ director of fan engagement (Tyler Hynes) and one of the team’s superfans (Hunter King). Donna plays the manager of a barbecue restaurant, who gives advice in the trailer.

Days after Donna wrapped her scenes, King and Hynes spoke to PEOPLE on set and raved about the Kelce matriarch’s warm presence.

“She’s just so sweet,” King said. “Such a doll and it was as if a mother was there.”

Hynes agreed, revealing that Donna asked them to write her son Travis, 35, a note to put in his locker since they were filming at the actual stadium.

“I wrote the lyrics to ‘Friends in Low Places,’” Hynes said. “And I said, ‘Never change.’”

“I think I wrote something like, ‘Thank you for letting us steal your field and your mother,’” King added.

In addition to Donna, Hynes and King, the film also features an impressive array of stars and cameos: Jenna Bush Hager, Diedrich Bader, Megyn Price, Richard Riehle, Christine Ebersole, Richard Christie and Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid, in addition to a handful of Kansas City players Chiefs.

Holiday Touchdown: A Love Story for the Chiefs premieres Saturday, November 30 at 8pm ET/PT on Hallmark Channel.
