After Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, Lizzie McGuire and six Disney Channel original series to be revived

I grew up during one of Disney Channel’s heydays of original TV shows and movies. That’s why I watched and enjoyed so many of the best ones. I grew out of my Disney Channel Originals phase back then Wizards of Waverly Place premiere, but I was excited about it Learn more about restarting, Wizards beyond Waverly Place, because it opens the door for more revivals.

Disney has a pretty respectable and impressive catalog of original TV shows, so the options are endless. However, there are a few Disney Channel Original TV shows that I would like to see back on the cable network or streaming service.

Lizzie McGuire

Every former fan of Disney Channel Original TV shows of a certain age was robbed when Disney decided to do this delete the Lizzie McGuire revival. Now that I’ve learned some details about the original pilot, I’m kind of glad the original ideas won’t happen now (sorry, I’m Team Gordo and Lizzie forever), but I still think the revival should happen. We want adult Lizzie to deal with the highs and lows of adulthood. She helped some of us through the highs and lows of being a teenager and teenager. Additional, some adults can still relate to the ideas and messages from the original series, so A Lizzie McGuire Revival can meet a need.

Zack & Cody’s suite life

Many fans of Zack & Cody’s suite life would I’d like to see a revival. The Tipton Hotel could reopen for a new group of children. However, it may be difficult to get Dylan and Cole Sprouse involved, as they have said numerous times that they don’t particularly want to work together again on a revival of their series. J-14 even collected quotes from the Sprouse twins about the revival idea. However, in a July 2024 interview with Link pointsDylan presented an idea that would allow Dylan and Cole to have minimal involvement while helping bring back the spirit of life The suite life.

The funny thing is that Cole and I talked about it for a long time, and we talked about it with our writers. Originally we were planning to possibly do another season where we went back to the hotel and raised a child in our image who also lived there with his father. That way we could deviate from the show, and (it) could still happen while we were going to college.

Most current Disney Channel Original revivals focus on the next generation, so this premise could work. I know many would love to see the Sprouse brothers back full-time, but Dylan’s idea could be a good compromise.

Liv and Maddie

Liv and Maddie is one of the more recent Disney Channel Original shows, so it may be a little too soon for it to return. However, it has been almost ten years since the final. This means there could easily be a revival between Liv and Maddie ten years after the finale. The twins (both played by Dove Cameron) already led fascinating lives as basketball stars and real-life TV stars. A revival could showcase their lives and careers following their rise to fame as a potential professional athlete, and an even more famous actor. The series would just need Cameron to agree to his return. Afterwards, we were able to see guest appearances from some of the cast, including Jordan Fisher and Jessica Marie Garcia.

Liv and Maddie was one of them Cameron’s best projectsso maybe she’s willing to show off her talent again by playing these drastically different sisters.

Kim Possible

As an animated series Kim Possible should be one of the easier shows to revive. Moreover, it is considered by many to be one of the best animated tv shows. There is a passionate audience that would love to see Kim, Ron, Wade and others return. The network made a Disney Channel Original live-action version of Kim Possible That premiered in 2019. However, I’m sure many would love to see a full revival of the animated series.

Kim Possible‘S voice acting stars, Will Friedle and Christy Carlson Romano, appear open to the idea of returning to their iconic animated characters. It could come down to whether Disney and the Kim Possible animators want to bring these characters back. We hope the team behind the original series considers reviving it, because this is what people want.

Austin and Ally

Austin and Ally is another Disney Channel Original series that ended less than a decade ago. However, that doesn’t mean it has to wait another decade or so before it returns. The premise makes it easy to revive, as Disney is all about multi-talented stars. A new one series could focus on a new set of opposing artists bonding and helping each other discover their musical talents. Ally and Austin could launch the new series by introducing the new characters, or perhaps it could be a spin-off about their married life.

Ross Lynch seems to be busy with his music career, and Laura Marano seems to have quite a few TV and film projects. Therefore, it may be difficult to get either of them to return full-time, but there could be a way for them to perform occasionally.

KC Undercover

Zendaya is one of the most successful former Disney starsso she would probably get a huge check to return to KC Undercover. Plus, she’s quite busy with upcoming projects, including one movie with Christopher Nolan. Most likely if Disney decides to revive KC UndercoverZendaya would likely have minimal on-screen involvement. That doesn’t seem like a big barrier for the show, though.

The name of the series would have to change, but it could easily start with Zendaya appearing in the pilot, similar to Selena Gomez with Wizards Beyond Waverly Placeto help set up new leads and characters. A show about young spies shouldn’t be impossible to figure out how to reboot.

So weird

This is a nice niche suggestion as many may not have liked it So weird as much as I enjoyed it growing up. The show only aired for three seasons in the late 1990s and early 2000s, but it was a show I always remember for being one of the small but fascinating children’s shows that featured paranormal encounters.

The first two seasons followed Fi as she was on tour with her mother, her brother and their friends. A reboot could follow Fi and her kids as new paranormal things start to haunt them. So weird star Cara DeLizia has retired from acting, so it may be difficult to get her back for a movie revival. The show could work around that, though, and perhaps Fi could become the now-deceased parent and follow her daughter’s quest to try to communicate with her beyond the grave. It’s still possible that at least one of the original cast will show up to tie this show into the first one.

With the success of Raven’s house And Wizards Beyond Waverly PlaceDisney Channel should look to some of its older programming to tell new stories in the same worlds. Many shows don’t need to be restarted or revivals, but some of these series should definitely come back.
