A serious motorcycle accident has shut down I-91 in Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT (WFSB) – A serious motorcycle crash on Interstate 91 caused major traffic disruptions early Saturday morning as authorities closed part of the highway for several hours.

The accident occurred around 2:03 a.m. in the southbound lanes near exit 13, prompting a rapid response from multiple emergency teams.

Troop I responded to the scene, where serious injuries were reported.

Both the Wallingford Fire Department and EMS assisted in providing care while the Department of Transportation (DOT) worked to close the highway for the investigation.

The closure lasted several hours and the highway reopened at 7:29 a.m

The accident is still under investigation by the state police.
